Revolutionizing Disability Housing: A Call for Visionary Philanthropist
As someone living with cerebral palsy, I'm on a mission to create a groundbreaking housing solution that could transform lives. I'm seeking visionary philanthropists to join me in this endeavor.
The Vision
Two connected Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) dwellings in southern Adelaide:
- A home for myself and my dog, Ziva
- Housing for another SDA participant
- A sustainable model backed by NDIS funding
The Impact
- Addresses the critical shortage of suitable housing for people with high physical support needs
- Empowers independence for individuals like myself
- Creates a sustainable, replicable model for disability housing
The Numbers (Estimated)
- Project cost: $1.1M - $1.45M
- Seed funding needed: $180K - $250K
- Annual SDA income: $90K
This income would cover mortgage repayments and maintenance, ensuring long-term viability.
Your Role
Your support can provide the seed funding needed to secure a mortgage and bring this vision to life. By contributing, you'll:
- Make an immediate, tangible impact on lives
- Be part of an innovative approach to disability housing
- Help create a model that can be replicated to assist more individuals
About Me
Due to my cerebral palsy, phone conversations can be challenging. I prefer to communicate via email or meet face-to-face with one of my support workers to assist with communication. To get a deeper insight into who I am and what I'm capable of, I invite you to explore the other posts on this blog. You'll discover that despite my physical limitations, I'm a determined and proactive individual with a passion for making a difference.
